RESEDA (CBSLA) — The authorities said that due to a circuit breaker fire at the Ministry of Water and Power’s facilities on Saturday, approximately 5,700 customers in Reseda were cut off. It is expected that the power supply will not be fully restored until Saturday night.

Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said that firefighters were dispatched to the DWP facility in the 7100 block of Darby Avenue at 2:51 AM, where they quickly put out the building's fire.

DWP spokesperson Deborah Hong said that some customers restored power within about an hour, but about 5,700 customers were still out of power late Saturday morning.

Initially, it was expected that the recovery would not be complete until around 8pm, but at 5:45pm, DWP tweeted that the recovery time had been moved to 11pm, “Because the staff continued to repair and clean the site, the working hours were longer than expected. It's going to be long."
