Motor City wins tie breaker over Central Maine, advances to state tournament - WVII / Fox Bangor

HAMPDEN – Quirk Motor City and the Central Maine Riverkings met at Bordick Park on Thursday to decide the fourth and final seed in the Maine legion state tournament.

Motor City took a 2-0 lead in the fifth before breaking the game open with two bases-loaded hits from Alan Wheaton and Jason Libby. Wheaton tossed a complete game, one-hitter over the Riverkings to help Motor City to an 8-0 victory.

The state tournament will be played beginning Saturday at Husson University in Bangor.
