What an amazing time we live in.  The education kids are receiving is so much more advanced than 20 years ago even 10 and 5 years ago. The Texarkana ISD recently announced an amazing new program in aerospace engineering.  This will give students the chance to learn all about this field hands-on.

According to a press release, TISD has partnered up with Tango Flight. This is a program where students will build virtually a full-sized, fully operational airplane in school, specifically an RV-12iS which is a two-seater, light-sport aircraft.

Texarkana ISD Superintendent Dr. Doug Brubaker said in a press release;

“As a district with a strong innovative spirit, we are thrilled to introduce yet another STEM opportunity that sets us apart, promotes career exploration and gives our students a leg up on their futures. This program will change the trajectory of some of our students’ paths.”

To say this is a special opportunity in our area is an understatement. Only 20 school districts in the county have this program and Texarkana is now one of them. Not only that Texas High School is one of the five schools in Texas that will be building an actual plane through this program.

See what I mean about what an amazing time this is for students, their future and for  Texarkana?
