Bhubaneswar: Reliable and safe electricity has always been a basic necessity of the public. In order to make it available to 180,000 consumers in Kurda District, TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd. has been continuously working on many improvements. The vast area and the influence of the annual "Kaal Baisakhi" make the organization's work more difficult. However, TPCODL’s mission is to undertake large-scale network improvements while ensuring the safety of the general public/animals. It is worth mentioning that Kurda has taken various measures under the categories of safety, system enhancement, operation and maintenance. The main measures taken in this regard are:  More than 4,763 electric poles and 1,040 plug-in electric poles have been installed in Kulda district to correct the sagging wires. In addition, 144 locations in the district have carried out telegraph pole correction projects.  Since Kulda is vulnerable to many severe weather conditions, we built 150 new double-pole structures to strengthen our existing network so that it can withstand high-speed wind pressure and the impact of "Kaal Baisakhi".  Cradle guards have been set up at more than 20 road intersections to prevent any unfortunate public accidents in the event of a broken or broken live wire.  71 TPCODL have been installed. And repaired 1,221 nos AB switches in and around Kulda district to help reduce fault clearance time and improve the overall reliability of the area.  In addition, Kurda replaced 03 sets of 11KV vacuum circuit breakers and 02 sets of 33KV vacuum circuit breakers to improve the tripping accuracy and provide reliable power for everyone.  Six new voltage transformers and six lightning arresters were installed, which further increased the capacity of the distribution network.  Old/worn conductors were replaced in 735 locations, and renovation works were carried out at 31 power distribution substations.
